In Nigeria, abortion is a contentious and highly sensitive issue. Discussions around abortion in Nigeria are complicated and multifaceted due to the country's large population, as well as its wide variety of cultural, religious, and legal settings. Abortion is only legal in Nigeria under certain conditions, such as when it will save a woman's life. Any other situation, such as rape, incest, or fetal abnormalities, does not constitute legal justification for abortion. As a result, many women turn to risky and illegal ways, endangering their lives and well-being. There to review abortion laws in Nigeria specifically for rape and incest victims who have been forced into pregnancy. This work addresses the inadequacies in the abortion Laws in Nigeria, as it excludes rape and incest victims, and the need to bring attention to the plight of victims and highlight the need for legal and compassionate options for terminating pregnancies resulting from such traumatic experiences. The doctrinal technique has been selected in order to adequately satisfy the requirements of this study. The theological kind of study is thought to be the most suitable according to the nature of this undertaking as it carefully analyses the different provisions of law and its effect on victims. As a result, both primary and secondary sources have been used in this project. Conventions, statutes, and constitutions are among the primary sources, while legal dictionaries, law reviews, articles, law journals, legal textbooks, newspapers, and online resources are among the secondary sources. The material gleaned from these sources was examined for context and content. In addition, a qualitative method through an informal interview was adopted and carried out by asking the respondent questions about her experience as a victim of sexual violence. While abortion remains a highly controversial and debated topic globally, the findings on abortion have shed light on several important aspects like public opinion, reproductive rights health consequences, socioeconomic factors, legal frameworks, the impact of criminalization, Comprehensive reproductive healthcare, sociocultural influences advocacy and reform.
